Now that it is getting colder, I have seriously been eating this every day for breakfast!! I love this oatmeal! I might have already given you this recipe...but just in case I didn't - here it is!!
Makes 2 servings
3/4 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon sugar (I use honey!)
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
2 Tablespoons dark chocolate chips
Directions:
Combine oats, milk, sugar or honey, and cocoa powder in a pan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat and stir frequently! Reduce heat to low and simmer for five minutes - or until the milk is absorbed and the oats soften! Then, stir in the chocolate chips until they are melted. Then you can put it in two bowls and add a few more chocolate chips on top! Also, I LOVE to pour milk on the oatmeal too!! Yummmmm!
Lots of times I just need one serving of this, so here is the half recipe!!
6 Tablespoons oats
1/2 Cup milk
1/2 Tablespoon sugar (honey) and cocoa
1 Tablespoon choc. chips
....since I am so good with math, haha, I recently realized that I've been using 1/2 Teaspoon of cocoa and honey, instead of half a Tablespoon! haha! It was even better when I put the correct amount of cocoa in!
(by the by, I got this recipe from the Pastry Affair site!)
